As a wise professor once told me, "creating art is a journey, not a race." Sculpting has recently become part of my artistic journey, and for me it is a completely new venture. There are so many things to learn, so much I have already learned and still much more I have yet to learn–but I have enjoyed every second of the exhilaration of doing something completely new and unfamiliar.
Another wise professor–and veteran sculptor–told me that he hoped to never feel like he was an expert. "As soon as you feel like that," he stated, "it's all over. The best art is made with fresh eyes."
